Marvin was adopted from our East London centre 3 years ago but has sadly fallen out with the resident cat in his home and is therefore in need of a new home.

Marvin was originally rescued as a stray and has happily settled into an indoor life. He struggled with digestive issues at the rescue centre and in his new home, after lots of tests the issue seemed to be a food sensitivity but Marvin did not do well on the various prescription veterinary diets but has done well on a raw food diet so will need to continue with this to remain healthy.

"We adopted Marvin from Celia Hammond a while back but it's with a heavy heart that we think he would prefer to be the only cat, because he and our resident cat sadly don't get along. Since Marvin has been with us he’s come on leaps and bounds. Once a very shy rescue, he’s transformed into a lovable lap cat and loves nothing more than to settle down next to you on the sofa for a cuddle. He is an extremely handsome and laid-back cat with a goofy character. He would be more than happy to be an outdoor cat however he’s never really shown much inclination to go outside since he’s been with us and ultimately seems content to be curled up asleep somewhere warm with a full belly. He likes a game and loves batting a ping pong ball around the place, as well as chasing a bit of string.

He does have a special diet but this is easily controlled and maintained. He’s an extremely good eater and uses a litter tray without any issues. He’s sometimes wary of new people but soon comes round after a few minutes for some ear scratches. He’s never shown any signs of aggression other than when he’s overstimulated, and will bat your hand away when he’s had enough sometimes, but nothing that isn’t normal cat behaviour.  He doesn’t really enjoy being picked up and held close, but will endure it when required. He's been fine on visits to the vet via car or public transport. As he loves his food, he can sometimes ‘help himself’ to dinner if he wants and has been known to raid our food waste bin/scavenge, but as long as temptation is removed he’s usually fine. He has a slightly weepy eye sometimes as part of the lid has a slight ‘knick’ in it from his street cat days, but it’s stable and we don’t touch it – drops/ointment has never really made a difference. Just comes and goes.

He is on a BARF/frozen food diet (Currently Luna & Me complete food – he has 1 frozen patty a day) and currently uses a clumping unscented litter. He’s been fine with babies and children, always supervised of course. "

ADOPTION PROCESS:

Because our cats are rescued we do like to meet potential adopters this can either be at your home (home visit) or via a video call e.g WhatsApp this is an informal visit to provide advice about caring for cats or kittens e.g health care, feeding, settling in and also an opportunity for us to feel reassured that you could provide a good home.

Following a successful home assessment we can make an appointment for you to come and meet our cats.
