The Lewisham Branch of the Celia Hammond Animal Trust opened in October 1995 with the main objective being the provision of a low cost neuter and vaccination clinic, thus bringing responsible pet ownership within the reach of everyone. The centre is now both a busy veterinary clinic providing low cost neutering and veterinary services for pets belonging to owners on benefits or a low income and a busy cat rescue and homing centre for unwanted, abandoned, stray and feral cats. More information can be found on our Homing FAQ page: http://www.celiahammond.org/index.php/faqs/homing-a-cat
CORONAVIRUS COVID-19 SITUATION and cat adoptions.
UPDATE 11th May 2021: With the easing of lockdown restrictions we are now able to allow adopters who have had a successful home assessment to come and meet suitable cats prior to adoption - this will be by appointment only and Covid safe measures will be in place. Matching cats to new homes using video clips of staff interacting with cats will still continue to be an option but actual meetings will be helpful particularly with our more challenging temperament cats.
The cats at our centres are being cared for by our staff. Unfortunately we cannot take on new volunteers at the moment. If you wish to support us in the care of our cats please do so by sending donations of cat food via our Amazon Wish List : https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/registry/wishlist/NH7XY66SFO89/ref=cm_wl_rlist_go_o
