Veterinary job vacancies at The Celia Hammond Animal Trust in London

Canning Town is CHAT's East London centre for veterinary care, rescue and rehoming. Working for us, as well as looking after owned pets, you will also have the opportunity to nurse abused and unwanted animals back to health and into new loving homes. Working for CHAT, you will be directly making a difference to the welfare of animals in London.
You will also have an unrivalled opportunity to improve your skills, for as well as catering for people on low incomes we also accept referrals from many private vets, where the owners may have been faced with the option of euthanasia for their pet.  With us you will work on a very wide range of medical and surgical cases including orthopaedic and referral level soft tissue surgeries. You must have very good Veterinary Nursing experience and, as with all our roles, we are looking for someone who is passionate about animal welfare. This is a real hands-on role using all your skills and training and you will not be expected to cover reception work. You will be fully involved with the animals and your initiative will be encouraged and valued. We are well equipped with X-ray, ultrasound, in-house lab, endoscopes etc. This is a permanent vacancy although we will consider candidates willing to work for a minimum of six months. You will work from Monday to Friday with weekends, evenings and nights covered on a rota basis. Salary is commensurate with experience. Accommodation may be available.

We have a vacancy for a Veterinary Surgeon at our Lewisham cat rescue centre situated at our veterinary clinic in S.E. London. This is a full time position Mon - Fri 9 a.m - 6 p.m with no OOH.  Part -time / job share is also an option.  Our Lewisham rescue centre is a temporary home at any one time to between 120 and 160 cats domestic and feral who all require health checks and veterinary attention including neutering, microchipping, vaccinations as well as treatment for any injuries or ailments prior to adoption. Self contained accommodation is available if required.

Full time and Weekend Receptionist Vacancies at Canning Town

We are looking for full time and weekend reception staff with a passion for animal welfare at our busy East London Clinic in Canning Town. 

Working with us you will have a direct impact on the lives of animals in London whose owners are usually unable to find affordable treatment.  You will be responsible for building good relationships with our clients and dealing with the diary management, booking in, admission and discharge of their animals as appropriate.  You will be IT literate and a confident user of Microsoft Office with good financial intelligence. You may need to complete banking reconciliation with attention to detail and work well with other area's of the Clinic including the Vets, Vet Nurses, Rescue Team and support Celia herself.

Customer Service is very important as you will be dealing with our clients so having skills of empathy and compassion are important.  However this is a very busy Clinic so you will also need to be assertive as there will be challenging situations.  Previous experience of working in a Vet Practice or Hospital is required and you may be a Vet Nurse looking for a change of direction.
