The Lewisham Branch of the Celia Hammond Animal Trust opened in October 1995 with the main objective being the provision of a low cost neuter and vaccination clinic, thus bringing responsible pet ownership within the reach of everyone. The centre is now both a busy veterinary clinic providing low cost neutering and veterinary services for pets belonging to owners on benefits or a low income and a busy cat rescue and homing centre for unwanted, abandoned, stray and feral cats.    More information can be found on our Homing FAQ page: http://www.celiahammond.org/index.php/faqs/homing-a-cat

Applying to adopt a cat: Please contact us by email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.  In your email please include your name, address and contact tel no.   If you are interested in specific cats on our website please read their homing requirements and if you think you can meet their needs please include the cats names in your email.  Please let us know some general information about you, your home and household e.g how much experience you have with cats e.g previous and current cats / pets, who lives in your house including ages of any children. If you have a garden etc

Foster homes:  We do use short term foster homes but our main need is during kitten season for mother cats and litters of kittens (March to late Autumn) For other adult cats these will usually be our harder to home more challenging cats. Due to the demand to adopt friendly cats we do not need foster homes for friendly 'easy to home' cats. We do need foster homes to be local to our Lewisham centre. We have received a lot of offers of help with fostering cats during the pandemic but currently only have a very limited number of cats that are suitable for fostering.

Rescue - we are continuing to respond to rescue calls - e.g sick and injured strays, pregnant strays, stray cats with kittens,  cats whose owners have died etc  Please email us This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or phone 020 8694 6545
