Six young cats……

I’m neutered, vaccinated and microchipped, and have undergone a complete health check, so you can adopt me with full peace of mind.

Six young cats......

Eleven young cats were taken in from a home where the owners had not neutered their cats and had allowed them to breed out of control.  Cats and kittens were spilling out into the local neighbourhood and these cats were being fed on the street by concerned neighbours who thought the hungry cats had been abandoned.

We attended and collected these cats when we were pointed in the direction of the owners home.  The owners are working with the local authority and another animal charity to neuter and rehome the rest of their cats.

Our vets have neutered and microchipped the cats that we have in our care, they range in age from 9 months up to approx 2-3 years old.  Some are very friendly whilst some others are shier.

Since the cats have been used to living as part of a large family group we are seeking homes for them in pairs and a trio.

Homes with gardens are sought although we would also consider spacious indoor only homes for the younger cats.

UPDATE 14th FEB: Three of these cats have now found homes.  There are just six left seeking homes in pairs.

To enquire about these cats please email lewisham@celiahammond.org

ADOPTION PROCESS:

Because our cats are rescued we do like to meet potential adopters this can either be at your home (home visit) or via a video call e.g WhatsApp this is an informal visit to provide advice about caring for cats or kittens e.g health care, feeding, settling in and also an opportunity for us to feel reassured that you could provide a good home.

Following a successful home assessment we can make an appointment for you to come and meet our cats.

We are prioritising homes that are local to our centres. Lewisham Branch Homing catchment area: All SE London and BR (Bromley) postcodes. Also N.Kent (Welling, Bexley, Sidcup, Swanley, Dartford), Croydon and SW London (SW8, SW9, SW2, SW11, SW4, SW12, SW16) If you can offer a home to a 'harder to rehome' cat we will consider homes outside our usual rehoming areas.

Our Rescue Centre reception is also open every Saturday and Sunday afternoon between 1p.m and 5p.m for potential adopters to drop in to meet us for an initial chat about adopting one or more of our cats. Our address is 233-235, Lewisham Way SE4 1UY - please bring a donation of cat food to help us feed our rescue cats.
