MARCH 14th 2021: CORONAVIRUS COVID-19 SITUATION and Adoption Open Days

Unfortunately due to the pandemic it is not business as usual. Like everyone we are experiencing challenges continuing to run our rescue and homing service and care for the cats in the centre. We are running with a very reduced team because of the need to function in a covid safe way and so our usual adoption days are temporarily suspended an d our centre is closed to visitors.

We have been receiving a very high level of enquiries about adopting cats particularly for friendly cats and kittens and cats for indoor only homes which we do not currently have coming into our care in any great numbers.  In a few months time when Covid rates are lower and we are not in lockdown we will be able to take in and rehome more cats once again but for now everyone needs to stay safe.

We don't want to offend and its lovely that so many people want to adopt cats but the level of enquiries is overwhelming and our staff are working very long hours, sometimes its all just getting to be "too much" so please be patient.

Foster homes:  We do use short term foster homes but our main need is during kitten season for mother cats and litters of kittens (March to late Autumn) For other adult cats these will usually be our harder to home more challenging cats. Due to the demand to adopt friendly cats we do not need foster homes for friendly 'easy to home' cats. We do need foster homes to be local to our Greenacres centre. We have received a lot of offers of help with fostering cats during the pandemic but currently only have a very limited number of cats that are suitable for fostering.
