Three x three legged kittens

3x Three Legged Kittens!
This year, kitten season is worse than ever before. Regrettably, the current economic crisis has led to an increase in the number of cats being abandoned and left to fend for themselves on the streets and in back gardens. In a moment when we thought it couldn’t get any worse, another 5 tiny kittens were discovered in a garden with their mum. A heartbreaking discovery was made that three of the kittens were each missing one leg. How this happened we can only speculate, but it is thought their umbilical chord was wrapped around the legs during birth, causing the mother to inadvertently bite through the leg along with the umbilical chord. This can happen, however it’s very unusual for it to happen to three kittens in one litter. So we don’t really know what happened in this situation.
We were told that the mum had a previous litter but the kittens were given away earlier in the year.
Due to the national shortage of vets in the UK, more people than ever before are finding it extremely difficult to find a practice where they can have their cats neutered, leading to a significant rise in the number of unwanted litters. Within the coming months, our charity anticipates being asked to take in an unprecedented number of unwanted kittens and their mothers into our care.
At Celia Hammond Animal Trust, we’re working round the clock to provide shelter, medical care, and a second chance for as many animals as possible. However, we need your help to continue our vital work. With so many animals in dire need of assistance, our resources are stretched to the limit.
