Supporters Raise £400 at Burnham Almost Donkey Derby

A huge thank you to Cheryl Wilde and her wonderful team of supporters, who recently raised an incredible £400 for the Celia Hammond Animal Trust at the Burnham Almost Donkey Derby.

Cheryl and her team have been supporting the Trust at this event for several years, and we are so grateful for their continued dedication to helping the cats and kittens in our care.

Despite the warm weather and crowds thinning out later in the day, the team worked tirelessly to raise funds through a variety of activities, including a tombola, lucky dip, lucky box game, garden ornaments, pet accessories and a popular pets’ corner.

As well as raising much-needed funds, Cheryl and her fellow volunteers helped spread awareness of our work by chatting to visitors and handing out information about the Trust. It’s always encouraging to hear that so many members of the public are interested in learning more about cat rescue and welfare.

Many of the volunteers involved are rescue cat owners themselves and understand first-hand the difference that rescue organisations can make to animals’ lives. Cheryl told us that her own rescue cats, Milo and Caspar, bring her enormous joy, while fellow volunteer Ginny recently adopted a 19-year-old cat called Twinkle from a local rescue.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Cheryl, Chris Gill, Pauline Johnson, Linda Jay, Lynn Anderson and everyone else who gave up their time to make the day such a success.

Community fundraising events like this play a vital role in helping us continue our rescue, veterinary and rehoming work. We are incredibly grateful for the dedication, enthusiasm and kindness shown by Cheryl and her team year after year.
