Delilah – HOMED!

I’m neutered, vaccinated and microchipped, and have undergone a complete health check, so you can adopt me with full peace of mind.

Delilah - HOMED!

New arrival Delilah has been handed into us because her owners landlord won't allow pets.  Delilah is 1 year and 8 months old. She has so far lived as an indoor only cat and is not used to other cats.  She is currently very stressed but we are told was quite friendly with her previous owner so hopefully should soon settle.  Our vets will be neutering Delilah and then she will be ready for a new home.

Update 21st May: Delilah has now been neutered, she is still very upset and quite swipey with us but that should settle in time. Delilah's behaviour is typical of cats who have been raised from a single kitten as an only cat in an indoor only home.  Their home is their world so when they lose their home they initially fall apart because they have not experienced life outside of their home.  This will improve over the next few weeks but for Delilah to realise that there is more to life than her previous home has understandably been a big shock for her.   We have received a lot of enquiries about Delilah but as she is still so unsettled she is going to need a cat experienced, adult only home. She cannot live with other cats at the moment.   Updates to follow.

UPDATE 23rd MAY: Delilah has now been adopted by an experienced, understanding new home.  Hopefully everyone else who enquired about Delilah will be open to considering alternative cats, we will be in touch over the next few days. Thank you

ADOPTION PROCESS:

Because our cats are rescued we do like to meet potential adopters this can either be at your home (home visit) or via a video call e.g WhatsApp this is an informal visit to provide advice about caring for cats or kittens e.g health care, feeding, settling in and also an opportunity for us to feel reassured that you could provide a good home.

Following a successful home assessment we can make an appointment for you to come and meet our cats.

We are prioritising homes that are local to our centres. Lewisham Branch Homing catchment area: All SE London and BR (Bromley) postcodes. Also N.Kent (Welling, Bexley, Sidcup, Swanley, Dartford), Croydon and SW London (SW8, SW9, SW2, SW11, SW4, SW12, SW16) If you can offer a home to a 'harder to rehome' cat we will consider homes outside our usual rehoming areas.

Our Rescue Centre reception is also open every Saturday and Sunday afternoon between 1p.m and 5p.m for potential adopters to drop in to meet us for an initial chat about adopting one or more of our cats. Our address is 233-235, Lewisham Way SE4 1UY - please bring a donation of cat food to help us feed our rescue cats.
