Ish and Penelope

This friendly mother cat and her five 8 week old kittens have been cared for in one of our foster homes, their foster carers are adopting two of the kittens, but the rest of the family are in need of new homes in two pairs.

Teenage mum Ishtar (named after Mesopotamian goddess of heaven, love and fertility) also known as "Tiny" is the sweetest, friendliest and gentle soul. She will become your little shadow, so if you want a standoffish cat, she may not be for you! If you have seen the Oscar-winning animation film Flow, Ishy is a dead ringer for Cat, the star of the film except that she has a cute white star on her chest. Her little delicate mew is cannily identical and will melt any but the hardest of hearts.... although we think she may be an excellent and relentless mouser if required - when playing with her toys, she has the most rippling muscles under her sleek fur!

Her little girl, which her fosters have named Dame Penelope Squeak because she was born just after the loss of Penelope Keith (and her manners bought to mind Keith's character in To the Manor Born and of course Margo in The Good Life), is impeccably clean and well-behaved . She is a sweet little brindle Tortoiseshell, with a cute zipper down her front. We think she might become fluffier than the usual shorthair and has the personality of a little aristocrat ... who absolutely has no shame in procuring cuddles at any possibility and loves a belly rub that will result in deep purrs of satisfaction. She is happy being picked up and will settle on a lap indefinitely if allowed! Penelope would love to stay with mum, being the more mature of the kittens in personality.

Little Dottie Pumpkin (calico ginger) is a sweet and diminutive calico with a big dot on her pack surrounded by ginger - hence her name. She loves people and purrs heartily the moment you touch her. She is very playful but also loves a good cuddle. Her little pal Marty is very protective of her despite their enjoyment of rambunctious tussle and play, they will curl up together after a good feed.

Marty is a handsome little chap, a dapper tuxedo (black/white) boy, super friendly and loves his food. We think he may also have a little more fur than the average shorthair.

Ready for new homes from Mid August.

ADOPTION PROCESS:

Because our cats are rescued we do like to meet potential adopters this can either be at your home (home visit) or via a video call e.g WhatsApp this is an informal visit to provide advice about caring for cats or kittens e.g health care, feeding, settling in and also an opportunity for us to feel reassured that you could provide a good home.

Following a successful home assessment we can make an appointment for you to come and meet our cats.

We are prioritising homes that are local to our centres. Lewisham Branch Homing catchment area: All SE London and BR (Bromley) postcodes. Also N.Kent (Welling, Bexley, Sidcup, Swanley, Dartford), Croydon and SW London (SW8, SW9, SW2, SW11, SW4, SW12, SW16) If you can offer a home to a 'harder to rehome' cat we will consider homes outside our usual rehoming areas.

Our Rescue Centre reception is also open every Saturday and Sunday afternoon between 1p.m and 5p.m for potential adopters to drop in to meet us for an initial chat about adopting one or more of our cats.
