Bart is a very friendly 10 year old male cat who has been handed in by his owner who could no longer cope with looking after him. Bart was suffering with severe dental disease, a flea infestation and sore skin. Our vets have treated his fleas, and carried out dental work removing rotten and broken teeth. Bart's mouth and skin are now healing and he is feel much better. Bart has been cared for a few weeks in a foster home whilst he has completed his recovery and is now ready for a new home.
"We've been fostering Barney (previously known as Bart) for nearly 5 weeks now. And while we would love to keep him, he's coming out of his recovery stage and in need of a home with a garden and a family who can give him lots of attention!
"Meet Barney (affectionately known as BaBa), maybe the world's most loving cat. Despite going through a bit of a rough time in his previous home, Barney is coming out of recovery and loves human company. In fact, we think he believes he is a human. He'll sit on or near you, loves watching the TV, and always wants to be part of whatever is happening, all the time. He needs a lot of care and attention and he has absolutely no understanding of personal space! He will play when he wants to (although is totally terrified of string) and although can very occasionally get a bit excited, with only one front tooth he's not much of a threat to anything! He's the sweetest, friendliest cat, looking for loads of attention, a safe outdoor space to explore and a family who will be as adoring to him as he will be back to them!
I think he would benefit from a family who will be really loving and excited to have him, and that he needs a garden. He definitely gets very bored at night and wakes us up wanting attention. I think having a safe, secure garden that he could explore would help keep him entertained. He is a terrible climber so if the garden had high fences, he would be very safe to go outside. "
Bart would prefer to be the only cat in his new home.
