These cats have came into our care after their very elderly owner could no longer manage at home and moved in with relatives.
We had been involved with this man for over 10 years because he had lots of cats and kittens and came to our attention, he was against neutering cats and we had a struggle persuading him to let us neuter any of his cats. The conditions in his home were poor and many kittens did not survive - we concentrated on trying to get his female cats neutered whenever we could. The cats were poorly socialised as they were only used to him and would go in and out of a cat flap.
Once he eventually could no longer manage at home he moved in with a relative who contacted us to take in the last six remaining cats. One has sadly died since being taken in.
Clementine is the only female, she arrived underweight and requiring dental work which has now been done. Her blood tests showed no health issues and we estimate her to be 12-13 years old. She has gained weight and now looks well.
Ethan arrived as a still unneutered male and required dental work. Our vets have neutered and microchipped him. He also had a polyp in his left ear canal that has required surgery which has left him with some hearing loss in his left ear.
Harry arrived already neutered and is estimated to be around 12 years old.
Marvin the large male cat centre in photo arrived unneutered and required major dental work. He is approx 12 years old, he has been in lots of fights in the past and has old scarring on his face.
Matt also arrived unneutered, our vets neutered him, he is approx 10 years old and rather lacking in teeth.
UPDATE 27th OCTOBER: Sadly Matt has had to be put to sleep after developing kidney failure.
These cats are shy, they were only used to their owner and he didn't give them much individual attention, just letting them do their own thing and freely go in and out of the cat flap. We can stroke them but they are not over keen and they will sit close to us but thats it. They may improve in a home or they may just stay like this.
They are seeking rescue minded adult homes as pairs or the whole family We will provide help with ongoing veterinary care for these cats via our Lewisham Vet Clinic. They just need foster or permanent home(s) We know they are not very appealing, will anyone take pity on them? Can any one help?
UPDATE 3rd DECEMBER: FANTASTIC NEWS! - WE ARE SO HAPPY! ALL FOUR CATS ARE GOING TO A LOVELY NEW HOME - TOGETHER!!!
