Mici and Cuki are looking for a new home. Mici and Cuki were originally strays who were neutered by CHAT and returned to the kind people who fed them. Their owners have now moved to a flat and have a new baby and the cats just are not happy.
"Mici (approximately 5 years old) and her daughter Cuki (will be 3 years in April) used to live the bohemian lifestyle of stray cats in Hackney Wick, occasionally visiting our garden. 2,5 years ago we took them in. Mici was pregnant and starving, so she finally started to accept our food offerings. When her time came, she couldn’t deliver; it turned out all her kittens were stillborn. Cuki was the last survivor of the previous litter, and she was only 4 months old. We believe that we saved their lives opening our doors to them. At the beginning they were practically wild animals. It took lots of patience and hard work to tame them. Even after they started to sleep inside, Cuki wouldn’t let herself to be touched for months. Now she asks to be petted. Still they don’t like to be held, they wouldn’t sit on our laps, and if we have visitors, they growl first and then go hiding under the sofa.
Unfortunately (for them) our circumstances changed recently. We moved to a flat in Forest Hill on the 2nd floor, where the furry flatmates don’t have access to the great outdoors. And since October we have a baby daughter. So Mici and Cuki don’t get as much attention as they used to. To be honest they’re not very happy. They need a patient new human companion who is willing to invest some time to earn their trust and friendship. Mici in particular would love a new home where she can get outside: catflap and garden would be ideal.
