Garfield is a very friendly 17 year old cat. Garfield has been handed over by his owner to seek a new home as they say they are unable to look after him properly and that he kept wandering off. Garfield arrived in our care thin and suffering with anaemia. Blood tests have shown that he is FIV+ and has a blood parasite called haemobartonella which is causing his anaemia, our vets have commenced treatment for this so Garfields anaemia should soon improve.
Garfield is not ready for a new home yet but when he is will be seeking a new home under our Long Term Foster Scheme whereby we will continue to provide his veterinary care via our Lewisham clinic. Garfield would suit an indoor home. He seems fine with other cats.
