This is about as bad as it gets...

Someone abandoned this mother cat on a roundabout in Forest Gate while she was actually giving birth. She was lying in a fabric igloo bed, open at the front, with three newborn kittens - how could someone do this? It's a miracle she didn't get run over but she was clearly protecting her babies and wouldn't leave them to save herself. When the people who saw them brought them to us, the vet on call was concerned she might have another kitten inside her, but an Xray confirmed there was not so we made her comfortable in a cattery pen with her babies inside her fabric bed as she seemed very attached to it. We despair at the cruelty of some people.
