I am 9 years old.
I am a neutered female.
I need a adult only home.
I cannot live with dogs.
I cannot live with cats.
I can live in a indoor home or a home with a safe garden.
Ellie is a beautiful girl who was previously adopted from us about 7-years-ago. Sadly, her elderly owner, is unable to keep a cat any longer.
She is a big character who will initially love to hide in her favourite places and then will come out to enjoy company.
Ellie is very cautious of people and is scared of hands coming toward her. Once she feels safe, she likes to rub around your ankles and enjoys little head rub, but will let you know when she's had enough and retreat back to her favourite safe places. Because she is fearful of being picked up, we will need to train you on the best way to get Ellie into a cat carrier using food treats so as not to stress her.
She is very playful and loves playing and chasing with her favourite toy mouse and kickeroo.
Ellie would appreciate living with someone who is home a lot as she can get a bit down and lonely if left alone for long periods of time. She needs a calm home with adults who will let her come out of her shell in her own time and build her confidence.
She is so used to having someone home a lot with her and wants to be a companion cat who will hang out and lounge with you.
Unfortunately, she is very overweight and we have her in one of our wonderful short-term foster homes where she is on a diet as she needs to gradually reduce her weight from 7.5 kilo to a healthier weight. We can advise on a healthy food and exercise plan.
We are seeking a home that is close to one of our shelters so we can offer a bit more support as needed.

Our cats are rescues, that have either been abandoned, stray, neglected or abused. All homes need to have a home check either by video call or in person and we will provide advice about caring for cats or kittens. This is also a chance for us to see what type of home you can offer to one of our cats and to best match a cat with your home and family.
Following a successful home visit, we will make an appointment for you to come and meet the cats at the shelter and adopt. If you have picked cat/s from the website, you will meet them on adoption day.
We are prioritising homes that are local to our centre and these are the Canning Town catchment areas: East London, parts of North London and parts of West Essex.
If you can offer a home to a harder to home cat, we will consider a home outside these areas.
