Sam has lived most of his life as a street cat where many people have tried to trap him but he was too clever for them. He spent the next couple of years going from garden to garden looking for food. One evening he walked into his feeder's kitchen and collapsed on the floor, so they keep him in overnight and tried to give him food and water but he didn’t want any. In the morning they called us and we went to pick him up.
Sam arrived with a burst abscess on his sternum, an eye infection and a really bad mouth. He had been through a lot and just needed treatment to get better. The vet team have done an amazing job healing him; during his first vet check, they noticed he has a grade 2 heart murmur and he also tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) and feline calicivirus.
Sam has had dental treatment which leaves him with 4 canines and 2 incisors. This poor boy has been through a lot in the space of a few years. Sam will be homed under our permanent foster scheme. He will need a lot of stimulation and things to do as he is a very clever and active cat.
Sam is a sweet boy who likes attention and has the most adorable face and personality to match. Sam is a lovely cat, he loves to sit on your lap and get head rubs. He can sometimes grab at you hands when he wants more attention, he is a very cheeky boy who likes to explore and run around, he likes to sit at the door and watch the birds outside.
Sam really doesn’t like other cats, so he is finding life at the shelter very stressful.
