Bruce is a super friendly 15-year-old cat who was brought to us by his owners to be put to sleep because they couldn’t look after him anymore.

Bruce was signed over and thoroughly examined. He was a little undernourished but apart from needing urgent dental treatment and entropion eye surgery (a section of skin is removed from the affected eyelid to reverse its inward rolling), he appeared to be in reasonable health, for his age. He is in the early stages of Kidney disease for which CHAT will provide on-going support in our clinic.

One of our amazing supporters, veterinary surgeon Marta Rokicka, from Riverside Vets Grays, offered to help Bruce and performed the surgeries for us free of charge.

Bruce has now recovered and is seeking a long-term foster home.

Other than being strikingly handsome Bruce is a super loud purrer and loves his food. He is almost completely deaf and can therefore get quite vocal at times. He loves belly rubs and head buts

Due to his age and deafness Bruce would be OK in an indoor home. But he does not like other cats!

Please note: first pictures taken before surgery. Last picture the day after stitches have been removed
