Mr. Pickles is a handsome, calm and affectionate 10-year-old cat who came to CHAT as a stray. He was initially homed to become a companion to a cat of similar age but it transpired that Mr. Pickles did not like being pestered by other cats and is therefore seeking a new home either as an only pet or with other independent cats. Mr Pickles has a sensitive tummy and is therefore on a gastro diet, chicken and psyllium husk powder as a supplement. This seems to work well.
This is how he has been described: “He loves dinner time, and rubs up against anyone who is feeding him. He is happy to lay beside you and receive head scratches, but prefers that you don't touch his back and stomach very much. He has a unique character, and is extremely charming. He will often come for head scratches when called, and has a very sweet walk. He won't groom when he is unsettled, but will begin to groom himself when he feels more comfortable. He is happy for you to brush his head and occasionally his shoulders and cheeks, and he will gently tell you to stop when he has had enough affection. He can get a bit hissy when stressed out, and is not a big fan of ‘the clap for carers’ - he hides behind the sofa every Thursday at 8pm. He is a very sweet old boy and purrs very loud and quite often and would be an ideal companion for someone looking for a calm and affectionate cat”
