Ella a stray or abandoned mother cat and her 5 kittens were rescued after they were discovered
living between an old discarded mattress in a disused bin cupboard and the engine of an old van which was parked next to the cupboard.

Residents contacted us reporting seeing kittens climbing up inside the engine of the van. Concerned for the safety, particularly if the van was
driven away our rescue staff Kelley, James and Trudi immediately attended to rescue the kittens.

Upon arrival it was clear that the kittens had been living in a nearby disused bin cupboard where their mother had made them a bed out of an old mattress, now that the kittens were older 7-8 they had started to venture out of the cupboard and had discovered the van engine.

The mother cat now named Ella was very protective of her kittens and did not want anyone coming too close.  It took almost four hours but the family were safely captured by our rescue team and brought back to the rescue centre.

We have named mum "Ella" she is still quite shy and untrusting of our intentions but is improving and has clearly once been a pet cat who has ended up lost or been abandoned.

Ella and Hector are shy and are seeking an experienced, adult home together. To enquire about Ella and her kittens please email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or leave a message on 020 8694 6545
