***UPDATE 25/02/2017*** Churchill's test results have come back and sadly he has been diagnosed with feline leukaemia virus (FeLV). At the moment Churchill is a happy chunky boy who you wouldn't be able to tell there was anything wrong but it is likely that the virus will shorten his life. We are looking to find him a foster home local to the Sanctuary in Brede, East Sussex where he can live and be loved and we can provide the necessary veterinary back up. Churchill would need an indoor only home and to be the only pet. He has so much love to give and we are desperate to find him a home as soon as possible. Beautiful boy Churchill was rescued from a derelict church that had begun renovations. Several builders had caught fleeting glimpses of Churchill but he was petrified and would hide in a cupboard next to the old church organ. Overnight Churchill would raid the bins on the building site looking for scraps of food. We were called to help catch Churchill as it was clear he couldn't go on living on a dangerous building site. Once back at the Sanctuary Churchill was initially very frightened and would hide away in his bed. Slowly over the next few days it seems he couldn't resist the temptation of some Dreamies and would very cautiously take them out of your hand. Happily Churchill has now decided that he quite likes people and the treats they bring! He's started to purr and meow when people come into his pen.
We think he would be best suited to an adult only household as he is still has a nervous side to him.
We have many more cats available for adoption than those shown on our website. Please get in touch to have a chat.
